Job summary

Sonepar Canada, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing professional in Metro Vancouver to manage material procurement and stock levels for multiple branches.

You will review orders, optimize vendors, and coordinate transfers to ensure timely replenishment and accuracy in the system. Responsibilities include expediting purchase orders, communicating delivery dates, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to support service levels across locations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Post secondary courses in Purchasing preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office required.
  • Supply Chain certification, APICS, Operations or other related an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items for branches and customer orders.
  • Review purchasing reports to ensure timely purchase of stock using the most economical vendor.
  • Review warehouse transfer reports to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Review and resolve Warehouse Transfer and Purchase Order exceptions, discrepancies and errors.
  • Expedite and follow-up open purchase orders and maintain up to date delivery dates in the system.
  • Communicate to BM, CSM or Sales Representative unusual or extended delivery dates.
  • Follow-up on open warehouse transfers and Purchase Orders including ones not printed.
  • Resolve accounting issues for PO’s and PORM’s issued where discrepancies exist.
  • Review lost sale and stockout reports and adjust inventory levels where appropriate.
  • Assist with stock rotations as needed.
  • Maintain beneficial vendor relationships.

Scope

Education & Training

  • Distribution buying for multiple locations an asset.
