Job summary

Gescan, a member of the Sonepar Group, is seeking an Electrical Panel Technician in Calgary. You will assemble and service custom distribution panels, MCCs and control panels, wire assemblies, and support field installations while following safety practices.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1–3 years of electrical experience, mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel and work overtime.

Qualifications

• Electrical experience is an asset.

• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel to sites and overtime as required.
• Able to stand, bend, squat, and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire custom distribution panels and MCCs.
• Assemble and service custom control panels and shacks.
• Modify, assemble panels in the field for customer projects.
• Document service and installation actions; complete forms and records.
• Maintain safety practices and support the quality processes.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Scope:

Responsible for assembling and servicing customized electrical manufacturing products built to customer requirements including custom distribution panels, custom control panels and shacks.

Responsibilities:

Follows all proper safety practices and ensures compliance of regulatory requirements

Actively supports the Company's quality process to achieve total satisfaction of customer's requirements per specifications

Keeps equipment operating and troubleshoots breakdowns

• Modify, and assemble custom distribution panels, MCCs and PCL systems in the field, including breaker metering, and busbar bending
• Assemble and wire, custom control panels and shacks,

Documents and complete service and installations actions, completing forms, reports, logs and records

Assists in repairs to all equipment requiring service from the customer

Maintaining records of all repairs received in-progress work and completed work

Assists in maintaining and promoting a safe working environment for all associates

Conduct other duties and project work as assigned

Requirements

• Completed high school

1-3 years an asset

Electrical experience would be an asset

Mechanical aptitude a must

Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle when required

Willingness to travel to sites when required

Availability to work overtime when required

Able to frequently stand, bend, squat, and work on ladders.
