Job summary

Canadian Natural is offering a Business Student position in Technology & Innovation in Calgary, AB. The role focuses on supporting projects, economics and funding for new technologies while collaborating with industry professionals.

As a student, you will work closely with experts, gain hands-on experience with SR&ED claims, and contribute to cross-functional teams on meaningful projects within a leading oil and gas operator.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor’s degree program in Business (Finance, Accounting or Commerce).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is an asset; experience with Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, or Python is a plus.
• Experience in financial and data analytics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide project and process related support across Technology & Innovation group.
• Support business projects in Technology & Innovation, including SR&ED claims, funding applications, market fundamentals and economic evaluation of new technologies, and peer competitive analysis.
• Support contracts and invoicing logistics for academic collaborations in technology & innovation.
• Take on lead role in small projects.

• Job location: Calgary, AB
• Work schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, Monday to Friday
• Term lengths: 8 or 12 months

Key Accountabilities:

What You Bring to The Role:

• Currently enrolled in bachelor’s degree program in Business (Finance, Accounting or Commerce)
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products is considered an asset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI)
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Spotfire, SQL, or Python is considered an asset.
• Experience with financial and data analytics is considered an asset.
• High attention to details and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.
• Required to be physically and mentally fit for work.
