Job summary

Canadian Natural is seeking a Community Investment Student to work with teams across our head office in Calgary. You will help ensure stakeholder relations, community investment and communications deliverables are carried out successfully while you gain practical experience on meaningful projects.

The role offers exposure to scholarship programs, grant review, and events, with a 4-month term starting May 2027, a 5-on, 2-off schedule, and a competitive salary for students.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree or program in Communications, Business Administration, or Indigenous Studies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and interest in community investment, stakeholder relations, and corporate responsibility.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the review, approval and payment processing of community investment grant requests
  • Execute internal and external community investment communications activities
  • Participate in community investment strategy development sessions
  • Support the administration of the Canadian Natural scholarship programs
  • Contribute to team projects and events as needed
  • Maintain and update databases, track metrics, conduct research and support reporting on community investment activities

  • Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday – Friday)
  • Term length:4 months
  • Term start:May 2027
