Lead the Future of Enterprise Technology

As the Business Solutions Director, you will be responsible for the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of all enterprise application systems (excluding in-store systems) across Home Hardware Stores Limited. This includes overseeing platforms that support critical business functions such as Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and HR. You will work cross-functionally to ensure these systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution – driving digital transformation, enabling innovation, and delivering enterprise solutions that support long-term growth and operational excellence.

Led by the Vice President, Information Technology, you will serve as a key member of the IT leadership team, shaping enterprise technology direction, aligning solutions with business priorities, and fostering strong partnerships across departments.

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how :

  • Oversee all technology supporting enterprise-wide business functions across the organization.
  • Provide direction and support to business and technical teams, fostering strong leadership, open communication, and ongoing development.
  • Lead the acquisition and development of solutions for complex business challenges, promoting innovation and consistent application of best practices.
  • Direct the development and execution of tactical plans to support enterprise applications, including solution selection, implementations, upgrades, change control, training, and end-user support.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, business partners, and internal stakeholders to shape and deliver the enterprise technology, knowledge, and information management strategy.
  • Oversee IT audit and controls, resource management, training, benchmarking, quality assurance, and the project management framework.
  • Develop, manage, and track budgets related to technology investments, staffing, and daily IT operations.
  • Identify emerging technology trends and ensure the company is leveraging them to increase efficiencies and drive value.

We’re looking for :

  • Bachelors in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in IT, including 3 to 5 years in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record of implementing enterprise IT strategies and managing large-scale cloud or on-premise systems.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise architecture, systems design, software development, and application integration.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated strength in planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple large-scale projects.
  • Solid business acumen, with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and optimizing resource allocation.
  • The ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A calm, confident presence in complex or high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolve with changing business needs.
  • Experience in the Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods industry is preferred, particularly in collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
