Job summary

Waste Solutions Canada is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative to drive new business from Ontario, BC or Alberta while working remotely. Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative generates new business opportunities by researching and engaging prospective customers and converting outbound activity into qualified meetings for our Outside Sales Representatives. This remote, high-activity role is ideal for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and working toward measurable goals.

What you will be doing:

• Identify and research prospective customers within assigned markets and build targeted prospect lists.
• Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting by phone, email, LinkedIn, and other approved sales tools.
• Engage decision-makers, uncover waste and recycling needs, and communicate the Waste Solutions value proposition.
• Qualify prospects against the agreed meeting standard and schedule qualified appointments for Outside Sales Representatives.
• Provide clear meeting handoffs, confirm appointments, and coordinate calendars to support strong meeting show rates.
• Maintain accurate and timely CRM records for calls, contacts, follow-ups, and next steps.
• Build a consistent pipeline through organized, multi-touch follow-up and disciplined prospecting.
• Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives on territory priorities, target accounts, and feedback on meeting quality.

What we are looking for:

• 1-3 years of experience in business development, inside sales, outbound sales, appointment setting, or a similar customer-facing role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence engaging prospective customers.
• Comfortable with a high volume of outbound calls, handling rejection, and maintaining consistent follow-up.
• Highly organized, goal-oriented, and motivated by measurable results.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with a sales team.
• Experience using CRM systems, sales technology, LinkedIn, or prospecting platforms is an asset.
• B2B service sales experience or knowledge of waste, recycling, environmental services, facilities, or property management is considered an asset.
