Brown & Brown Canada is seeking a driven Business Development Representative to expand our Western Canada market. You will prospect, onboard, and grow profitable broker relationships while driving portal adoption and collaboration with internal teams.

You will travel to industry events across Canada, deliver compelling presentations, and support underwriters by representing SRIM at broker meetings and in digital outreach.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Level II General Insurance License required (or CIP designation preferred).
  • Experience in insurance broker channel is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify profitable insurance business through the broker distribution channel.
  • Onboard new brokers and nurture existing broker relationships.
  • Provide training on SRIM portals and liaise between underwriting and developers for new portal products.
  • Drive growth in gross written premium and user adoption of SRIM portals.
  • Support brokers by attending meetings and events; coordinate cross‑department collaboration.

Special Risk Insurance Managers Ltd. is seeking an energetic and results-driven Business Development Representative to expand our market presence across Western Canada.

Reporting to our Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for prospecting and acquiring profitable insurance business through the broker distribution channel while nurturing existing relationships with our valued broker partners and SRIM business partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prospect, identify and build profitable insurance business within the broker distribution channel.
  • Effectively onboard new brokers and provide exceptional ongoing care to your existing portfolio.
  • Provide training on SRIMs Portals, identify new portal product opportunities, and liaise between SRIM Underwriting and external developers in the creation of new portal products.
  • Drive GWP and user growth on SRIMs Portals.
  • Actively collaborate with internal departments, peers and colleagues to leverage areas of expertise that will enhance relationships with our broker partners and support their business growth.
  • Direct development of both existing and new client relationships through targeted prospecting and sales programs including digital marketing activities to acquire new customers and sales channels.
  • Drive revenue by delivering compelling presentations and delivery of information to new and existing brokers, associations, and other opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify and develop new sales and business opportunities.
  • Support Underwriters by attending broker meetings or events alongside them to provide complementary support.
  • Assist in the creation of eblast content and website improvements.
  • Travel to and attendance at various industry and networking events is an integral part of this role both locally and across Canada.
  • Work collaboratively within a dynamic team structure.
  • Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATION

Level II License; or CIP Designation preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license. This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are a requirement of this position.

Pay Range

Pay Range 60000 - 90000 Annual Actual salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and work location. Package may include base pay, commissions, and/or bonuses.
