Summary:
ICT Industrial is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Business Development Officer to expand and strengthen our presence across Ontario. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a strong understanding of industrial construction and sector-specific challenges in Ontario. As a remote position, the successful candidate will independently manage their territory, cultivate relationships with new and existing clients, and represent ICT Industrial’s high standards in performance, safety, quality, and ethical business practices.
Job Scope and Tasks:
- Identify, develop, and maintain strong client relationships across Ontario’s industrial sectors (including manufacturing, energy, chemical, and utilities).
- Represent ICT Industrial in client meetings, site visits, industry events, and prequalification engagements.
- Work with management to develop a strategic business development plan for the Ontario market in alignment with corporate goals.
- Track project leads and follow up with prospective clients and consultants.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of industrial code requirements and construction standards relevant to Ontario.
- Collaborate with internal departments (estimating, operations, safety, HR) to support client needs and project delivery.
- Seek partnerships with engineering firms, suppliers, fabricators, and other contractors
- Pursue Master Service Agreements with facility owners.
- Provide regular updates, forecasts, and market intelligence for the industrial group.
- Promote ICT’s commitment to safety, ethics, environmental sustainability, and diversity.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial business development, estimating, project management, or related roles.
- Preferred background in Mechanical, Civil or industrial construction.
- Familiarity with pre-qualification portals and procurement processes.
- Experience working with EPC firms, general contractors, and facility owners.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario’s industrial sector and regional code requirements.
- Proven track record of securing and expanding business.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Ontario (up to 50% travel expected).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly self-directed with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
