Job Title: Business Development and B2B Sales – Professional Services (Finance, Accounting & HR)

Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing professional services firm. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base by introducing our part-time finance, accounting, and human resources services to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across Canada having less than $25 million in annual revenues. The primary responsibility will be to develop sales channels and close client business.

Our ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator, highly organized, and brings a structured approach to relationship development and sales execution. You should have deep familiarity with the Canadian SMB landscape—particularly in the Greater Toronto Area—and the ability to convey trust and confidence to Presidents, CEOs, and business owners across services, manufacturing, not-for-profit, and charitable organizations.

About Us:

Flexserv is the leading provider of a full range of corporate services to small and medium size enterprises – organizations that typically range in size from 20 to 300 employees. Our clients look to us to fully manage their bookkeeping and accounting, finance, human resources, and information technology. Our staff work in a matrixed environment, working on one or more clients, depending on the workload generated by each of our clients. You may be teamed with certain Flexserv specialists for one client and other Flexserv specialists for another client. Ultimately, our clients see you and the rest of our team as an integral part of their company on a long term basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain referral and network channels to drive sales.
  • Close sales, manage follow-ups and client communications through to engagement letter signing.
  • Identify and engage prospective clients across a wide variety of industries, including services, manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, and charities.
  • Set up and conduct video meetings with prospective clients to learn about their operational and strategic needs.
  • Present and explain our suite of part-time bookkeeping, controllership, and HR services, and demonstrate how we can deliver both operational excellence and strategic leadership.
  • Guide prospective clients toward a commitment to engage with our firm.
  • Collaborate with our General Manager and Office Manager to prepare and send client engagement letters.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff and onboarding experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipelines, and follow-up actions.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and outreach strategies is considered a strong asset

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of B2B sales or business development experience, with a proven ability to sell professional or outsourced services.
  • Demonstrated success in working with Presidents, CEOs, and other senior decision-makers, particularly in the SMB space.
  • Extensive network in the GTA and across Canada, with the ability to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Structured, organized, and methodical approach to sales and client engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey credibility and build trust.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable using CRM and other digital tools to manage sales processes and track progress.
