Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) is seeking a Business Development Manager for Cambridge, ON. The role focuses on servicing existing accounts and developing new business within P&H Milling, reporting to the National Sales Manager.

The candidate will maintain extensive market knowledge, travel as needed within Canada, and support the sales team to meet goals and deadlines. A post-secondary background in Business or Agriculture is preferred, with at least three years in outside sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of outside sales experience.
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving abstract.
• Experience selling or buying commodities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Service existing accounts and prospect for new business.
• Stay informed on industry news and trends to advise customers.
• Support accounts on product usage and alternative products and their uses.
• Help customers meet risk management goals with forward contracting.
• Attend and set up industry shows and events.
• Manage receivables to maintain company terms and integrity.
• Address customer concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Provide back-up to other sales team members as required.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our P&H Milling team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing existing accounts and developing new business opportunities, while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

This position will be located in Canada with flexibility in the location.

Day to Day

• Servicing existing customers as well as prospecting for new business.
• Remaining abreast of relevant industry news and trends and providing sound input to customers.
• Providing support to accounts on proper use of our products, providing information. regarding alternative products and their uses and giving customers timely and sound advice on bookings.
• Helping customers to meet their risk management goals with forward contracting.
• Attending and setting up various industry shows and events.
• Managing and ensuring collection of receivables to maintain company terms.
• Handling customer concerns in a satisfactory manner.
• Supporting other members of the sales team including providing back up, as required.

What You’ll Bring:

• Post-secondary education in Business or Agriculture is preferred.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an outside sales role.
• Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear drivers abstract.
• Experience in selling commodities or buying commodities is an asset.
• Working knowledge of a bakery’s operation is an asset.
• Self-starter with a passion for learning.
• Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
