Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) Milling seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance for a large milling facility. You will drive reliability, oversee a PM program, ensure health, safety and food safety standards, and guide a team to deliver cost-efficient, compliant operations. Strong leadership and technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or professional engineering qualification; AScT or equivalent is desirable.
• Supervisory experience leading a small team.
• Working knowledge with CMMS software.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership through coaching and mentoring.
• Maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
• Coordinate communication with Production, QA, OH&S teams.
• Plan and oversee installation, maintenance and repair of plant equipment, piping and facility systems.
• Suggest improvements through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Assist in managing and controlling maintenance costs and budgets.
• Maintain documents and records per policies and procedures.
• Manage equipment inventory and parts procurement.
• Assist in Capital project installations including cost estimates and timelines.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our P&H Milling team. This role is responsible for or overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient, effective, and economical operation of the facility. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, drives equipment reliability and performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all health and safety, food safety, and quality standards while maintaining a productive and cost-conscious operation.

Day to Day

• Provide direction and leadership through effective coaching and mentoring.
• Maintains an effective Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
• Maintains a transparent and effective communication with Production, QA, OH&S teams at all times.
• Plan and oversee installation, maintenance and repair industrial machinery which includes plant equipment, piping systems, pneumatic systems, and facility structure / services.
• Provide recommendations and suggestions to address plant and equipment deficiencies or for continuous improvement through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Effectively assist in managing and controlling maintenance costs and budget
• Maintain documents and records in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Manage equipment inventory and procurement of parts.
• Assist in the installation of Capital projects including the research of the project, cost estimates, sourcing of contractors and project timelines.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science Technologist (AScT), Journeyman/Red Seal trades certification as Millwright or Electrician.
• Supervisory experience leading a small team.
• Working knowledge with any CMMS software.
• Ability to read, follow and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals and manufacturers' specifications.
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
