Job summary

MT Talent Solutions Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager – CPG / Retail to drive new retail opportunities across Canada and the United States. In-office role in Montreal with travel required, offering base salary and strong bonus potential.

You will build a pipeline, develop relationships with buyers and category managers, and work with cross-functional teams to win shelf space and product listings. A proven track record in mid-sized CPG environments is valued.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of experience in CPG, food, retail sales, or business development.
• Bilingual FR/EN.
• Proven experience selling products into retail organizations.
• Experience opening new retail accounts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue strategic new retail opportunities across your assigned Canadian or U.S. market.
• Build a pipeline of prospective grocery, mass, club, convenience, pharmacy, and other retail accounts.
• Prospect and develop relationships with buyers, category managers, merchants, procurement teams, and other key decision-makers.
• Find creative ways to open doors with difficult-to-reach retail organizations.
• Negotiate opportunities and work toward winning new shelf space, SKUs, and distribution.
• Manage the business development process from initial prospecting through to securing the account.
• Help develop newly acquired customers by identifying opportunities for additional products, SKUs, locations, and regions.
• Work cross-functionally with internal sales, marketing, operations, quality, and product teams to successfully launch new accounts.
• Attend customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required.
