Business Development Consultant, Customs Brokerage

Join to apply for the Business Development Consultant, Customs Brokerage role at Omnitrans.

Omnitrans is seeking a Business Development Consultant, Customs Brokerage to join our Sales & Business Development team in Montreal. The BDC acts as the primary link between Omnitrans and its customers, responsible for creating, maintaining, and expanding our Customs Brokerage customer base to meet annual targets.

The role focuses on acquiring new Customs Brokerage clients and growing existing accounts through cross-selling our full range of services. The BDC also provides market insights to our Marketing team to help shape our offerings for targeted segments.

Responsibilities
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective clients to understand their challenges and goals.
  • Grow a loyal B2B customer base within a designated area, increasing market share.
  • Analyze current and potential customer bases to identify high-potential opportunities.
  • Identify gaps in clients' purchasing habits and develop strategies to capitalize on these.
  • Manage daily schedules and utilize sales tools like Salesforce.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
  • Review monthly results and strategize with senior management.
  • Collaborate with departments such as credit, marketing, and customer service.
  • Participate in industry events to promote Omnitrans and expand networks.
  • Attend weekly meetings, training, and conferences.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of sales experience, with a background in Customs Brokerage required.
  • Relevant college diploma or bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven sales success and a consultative sales approach.
  • Strong relationship-building and strategic skills.
  • Business acumen with experience in ROI and solution selling.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and smartphone use.
  • Fluent in French and English.
