The Role

The Senior Business Analyst will need to provide responsive operational and business analysis support to the Equity Research Business line and their systems.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting in conducting analysis leading to the definition of requirements, design, testing, project coordination, and implementation processes. The successful candidate will also assist in resolving complex business problems for the Equity Research Business unit and other business lines being serviced. The incumbent will participate in projects for new systems or enhancements and work closely with development/infrastructure personnel. The candidate will collaborate with other technology groups and vendors, and assist in providing ongoing support for all users in the supported business lines.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Provide responsive operational support (including 24/7 on-call on a rotation basis), troubleshooting existing and new functionalities.
• Coordinate with vendors and infrastructure teams to determine corrective actions and manage activities to ensure satisfactory results.
• Resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the system needs of the Equity Research Desk and their customers.
• Collaborate with business partners, including senior management, to define objectives, processes, and requirements.
• Participate in all phases of the IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), acting as a liaison between developers/technology teams and business members.
• Provide timely project status updates to the Project Manager and Senior Management, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
• Manage Scrum meetings, sprint planning, and related processes.
• Assist Senior Management and Business Partners in Vendor Relationship Management, including vendor selection, cost control, risk reduction, and service delivery.

• Experience with application-based projects, understanding data processing and workflows.
• Experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in technology projects.
• Knowledge of Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
• Asset: Knowledge of Equity Research.
• 2+ years experience in the Financial Industry, specifically Capital Markets. (Nice to Have)
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Infrastructure, Networks, and Security.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
