Location: Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)
Duration: 6 months (Possibility for an extension)
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Business Analyst - Capital Markets to work with cutting-edge technology and expand their product expertise. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in Role:
- Respond to user queries, triage requests, and debug reported issues to support day-to-day functionality of the Murex FXO system from front to back.
- Gather requirements, develop test plans, and support delivery for prioritized enhancements.
- Communicate with multiple stakeholders, including front-facing users, downstream teams, and vendor contacts, to coordinate ongoing work.
- Support ongoing maintenance of JIRA and ServiceNow spaces, ensuring BAU documentation remains up to date.
Must-Have Skills:
- 10+ years as a Business Analyst/BA or Analyst.
- 3+ years recent Capital Markets experience, including front-to-back-office workflow (Trading, Risks, Back Office, Regulation, Front Office).
- 3+ years’ experience conducting BAU support for capital market users, working with users, triaging issues, and coordinating resolution with multiple teams, along with requirement gathering.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- MUREX (preferred) or Wallstreet experience.
- Databases: MS-SQL.
- Experience with FX.
- Unix/Linux Bash scripting experience is an asset.
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL tools.
Soft Skills Required:
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and users.
- Quick learner, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong aptitude for working with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as finance, commerce, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or related fields.
