Job description

Kilgour Williams Capital (KWC) is an asset management firm focused on private credit investing. Our main offerings are Kiwi Private Credit Fund, Kiwi Business Credit Fund and Kiwi Alternative Income Fund (offshore). Our highly differentiated investment strategy focuses on building and managing portfolios of small balance loans originated by fintech-based lenders.

Investment returns have been strong and our funds have grown rapidly in size and reach. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our entrepreneurial team in Toronto, reporting into the Vice President of Finance and Operations. The incumbent will be relied on for implementing business intelligence and analysis tools across all parts of our business, including credit analysis, financial analysis, and investor/sales analysis. This role will be an integral part of the data analytics and financial reporting function within a fast-growing asset management firm, offering significant opportunity for professional development and career progression.

KWC employees currently work from our office 4 days a week in a 150-year-old heritage building in the heart of downtown Toronto. All employees are able to work from home occasionally in order to better manage work/life commitments.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, creative, driven and enjoy working in a small cross-functional team. Analytic, quantitative and technical skills are a must.As the firm is growing rapidly, the job responsibilities are likely to present substantial and rapid development opportunities.

As we are a small team you will be working alongside all parts of the business – sales, investor relations, portfolio management, operations, and senior management – and will have an opportunity to learn and contribute across each of these functions. Core Responsibilities

• Build data warehouse to store portfolio level analysis and reports for Kiwi Funds
• Work with the VP Finance and Operations to develop and implement financial planning and analysis tools
• Document business processes and assist management to identify bottlenecks and improve operational efficiency
• Work with the Portfolio Management team to develop and implement key portfolio management dashboards and to continuously improve reporting on risk and returns
• Reconcile data from various sources to ensure financial reporting completeness and accuracy
• Work with Sales and Investor Relations team to do develop and implement sales analytics and investor reporting ; Assist investor relations by ensuring accuracy and completeness of timely investor documents including monthly statements, and annual tax information
• Prepare individual investor performance reporting package as required
• Support other ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications - Required

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field with minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in a professional work environment
• Exceptional quantitative skills including experience in data management, analytics and reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and other analytical tools such as Visio, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Clear and fluent communication skills (written, verbal) are essential to this role
• Work with minimal supervision to prioritize and manage work
• Effective member of a team
• Ability to thrive in a fast pace working environment with competing deadlines
• Dedication to client service

Qualifications – Desirable

• Previous experience in financial services industry is an asset
