Job summary

JLL in Fort McMurray, Alberta is seeking a Building Technician to join our team at the start of 2027 growth. You will own the building’s operational health, blending hands-on maintenance with coordination duties to support a safe, efficient environment for our client's business.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will perform preventive maintenance, respond to CMMS service requests, oversee vendors, manage inventory, and assist with small projects from planning to completion.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct experience in building maintenance.
• Technical diploma or degree in Building Systems or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Proficient with CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Manage and execute the site’s Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule.
• Respond to service requests via CMMS within defined service levels.
• Coordinate and oversee work of third-party vendors and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections and champion health & safety protocols.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies; raise purchase orders.
• Assist with small-scale site projects, office moves, and facility improvements.
