Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is seeking a temporary custodian for a 40 hour/week, twelve-month position. Wage rate is $24.81 per hour under CUPE Local 4165 agreement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure secure, safe and sanitary conditions of the facility and grounds, such as setting alarms, locking doors, snow removal, dusting, sweeping, washing and garbage pickup.
• Perform cleaning, maintenance and restoration of floors. i.e., stripping and waxing.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies and order as needed.
• Operate and care for equipment related to the position.
• Make routine repairs regularly.
• Develop work methods in agreement with the Director of Operations or designate for assigned tasks.
• Report maintenance concerns to the principal/vice principal.
• Check daily with the school principal/vice principal for specific school needs.
• Complete daily checklist of duties.
• Perform other job-related duties.

JOB SUMMARY: An employee hired to perform custodial duties is responsible to the Director of Operations or designate.

POSITION: TEMPORARY until the return of the incumbent

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hrs/week - Twelve-month per year position.

WAGE RATE: As per C.U.P.E Local 4165 Agreement $24.81

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Grade 12 or equivalent or willing to obtain
• Driver's License would be considered an asset
• Experience/formal training cleaning in a related field would be considered an asset.
• Computer skills would be an asset
