Job summary

West Vancouver Schools is seeking a temporary Custodian for Bowen Island Community School. Effective immediately for approximately 3 months (with potential extension) and 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

Salary starts at $26.02 at Step 1 plus 16% in lieu of benefits. The position reports to the Head Custodian and performs cleaning and minor maintenance in and around the facility following the Custodians Manual.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 graduation is required.
• Building Service Worker certificate required.
• Valid BC Driver's License required.
• Fire Safety Course required.
• Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks and work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills.
• Physical ability to perform the duties (including climbing ladders/scaffolds).
• OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
