Job summary

OMERS in Vancouver is seeking a Building Operator to oversee HVAC systems, water treatment, and preventive maintenance for a Class A office/retail complex. You will address tenant requests with a service-focused mindset and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely, safe operations.

The role requires at least one year of technical building operations experience and a 4th Class Power Engineering Certification.

Qualifications

At least one year of technical and mechanical building operations experience.
General knowledge and experience operating HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, BAS, FAS and Life Safety Systems in a Class A office/retail complex.
4th Class Power Engineering Certification is required.

Responsibilities

Monitor day-to-day operations/repairs of HVAC equipment, Life Safety, BAS and lighting.
Manage water treatment program and regular water tests.
Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment; basic plumbing tasks.
Respond to tenant requests via portal and communicate status to tenants.
Coordinate with service providers and contractors; ensure safety and standards.
Develop energy priorities and daily energy management for HVAC/lighting.
Carry out general maintenance and other duties as assigned.
