West Oak Investments Ltd. is seeking a dedicated & knowledgeable Building Operator to join our team. You will provide on-site building operations & maintenance, oversee vendors, & ensure all properties are cared for in a safe & environmentally conscious manner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure tenant satisfaction through strong customer service & responsiveness
• Operate building systems: mechanical, electrical, & automation
• Ensure completion of repairs & planned maintenance, both interior & exterior, including scheduling & monitoring contractors as needed
• Maintain cleanliness & presentability of properties, including garbage removal
• Ensure overall security of the building
• Monitor & maintain positive relationships with contractors & tenants
• Ensure compliance with all policies & procedures
• Assist & maintain consistent communication with property manager(s) to achieve all organizational objectives

Requirements

• Team leader with strong customer service & collaboration skills
• Willingness to advance knowledge & experience
• Flexibility in taking on various duties & work on call, on a rotational basis
• Proficiency in the English language, both written & verbal
• Ability to understand, communicate & ensure compliance with Health & Safety practices
• Experience with HVAC equipment & Building/Facility Automation Systems
• Proven relevant mechanical/electrical aptitude & trouble-shooting skills
• Computer literacy & experience using digital services
• Education with building systems, construction/carpentry or equivalent combination of education & experience is an asset
• Building Systems Maintenance Technician or Systems Maintenance Administrator is an asset
• A valid 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate of Competency is an asset
• Valid driver's license required
• Fireman Boiler Operator or willingness to obtain is required
