Job summary

JRS Engineering (JRS) is seeking an Engineer, Building Science to join our Western Canada team. You will conduct assessments and investigations, produce reports, undertake design work, perform field reviews, and interact with clients on projects ranging from wood frame to concrete high-rises.

The ideal candidate holds a BASc/Engineering and EGBC-registered EIT, with 2–5 years of post‑graduation experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science/Engineering with EGBC EIT designation.
• 2–5 years of post‑graduate work experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and investigations of building conditions and envelope systems.
• Prepare written reports including warranty reviews, depreciation reports, maintenance reviews/manuals, and recommendations.
• Develop building envelope design solutions and construction documents for repair, renewal, and rehabilitation projects.
• Review drawings and specifications to provide envelope design review services and attend meetings with clients and consultants.
• Coordinate field reviews, investigations, risk assessments, and quality assurance during all project stages.
• Conduct window tests, air barrier tests, and other field testing.
• Conduct thermal modelling and hygrothermal analysis.
