Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Branch Manager in Edmonton to lead daily operations, drive safety, and build a high-performing team. You will oversee budgeting, fleet utilisation, and customer relationships to deliver exceptional service at a growing location.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in a related role with 2+ years of leadership experience, along with strong negotiation and communication skills and a background in equipment rentals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction equipment rentals, utilities, pump and power equipment rentals or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team.
• Post-secondary education in business or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Specialized knowledge of pump equipment and/or power generation equipment preferred (diesel generators, dewatering and sewage pumps).
• Understanding of rental fleet management and construction/equipment rental industry is an asset.
• Excellent negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication skills; able to interact professionally with customers, drivers, service technicians, and sales staff.
• Strong leadership and team management skills; capable of leading with integrity and trust.
• Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities; professional under pressure.
• Strong business sense with budgeting, P&L, and growth planning experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; PowerBI is a bonus; Systematics experience is an asset.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive growth.
• Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity to remain competitive.
• Represent the company at industry events and in networking opportunities.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role (preferably in construction equipment rentals, utilities, pump and power equipment rentals or sales, or a closely related field), plus at least 2 years of experience leading a team.Post-secondary education in business or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).Specialized technical knowledge of pump equipment and/or power generation equipment is preferred (including but not limited to diesel powered generators and diesel and electric dewatering and sewage pumps of various voltages).Understanding of rental fleet management and the construction/equipment rental industry is an asset.Excellent negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); able to interact professionally with customers, drivers, service technicians, and sales staff. Strong leadership and team management skills; Leads with honesty, earns trust, and always does the right thing — even when no one’s watching.Must be very flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, shifting gears as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and able to stay professional and calm under pressure.Strong business sense, with experience managing budgets, reviewing P&Ls, and planning for growth. Confident using tools like Excel and Word; PowerBI knowledge is a bonus.
