Job summary

Artemis Gold Inc BW Gold unit is seeking a skilled Boom Truck Operator for the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia. The role reports to the Supervisor – Infrastructure and involves safely operating the boom truck and cranes, performing inspections, and upholding safety standards on site.

This permanent position follows a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation, requiring a valid Class 1 license and Red Seal certification.

Qualifications

• Red Seal – Boom Truck Operator required.
• Minimum 5 years experience with drilling or completions truck driving.
• Valid Class 1 license and acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Ability to operate other small equipment.
• Be prepared to actively participate in a positive and safe working atmosphere.
• Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Fall Protection Certification.
• Confined Space Certification.
• Aerial Platform Work Certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Safely operate boom truck and cranes for loading, unloading, lifting and lowering of materials and equipment.
• Work and operate outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as per company policies and procedures.
• Maintain lifting gear in good working condition and report deficiencies.
• Complete pre-shift and post-shift inspections and lifting plans and report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Hook up truck and trailer(s) as needed: deck off
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisor via hand signals and radio communications.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and report hazards.
• Complete job hazards assessments.
• Operate other small equipment when needed.
