Job summary

Northern Health’s SaferCare initiative seeks an OR Booking Clerk to support the Safer Care Implementation Team by delivering in-person education and clerical support before, during, and after activation across acute facilities. This role ensures smooth workflows and strong collaboration with clinical teams in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and three (3) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

In accordance with Northern Health’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, and under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the OR Booking Clerk, Clinical Transformation supports designated units as part of the Safer Care Implementation Team by delivering in-person education and providing clinical and clerical support before, during, and after Safer Care activation across acute facilities. The role participates in learning sessions and readiness meetings, shares resources and updates with clinical teams, and helps prepare for go-live by supporting clinicians, tracking and escalating common issues, assisting with workload pressures, troubleshooting system and workflow concerns, and providing guidance on new or updated processes. The position also provides clerical, scheduling, and booking support to areas such as ambulatory care, rehabilitation, diagnostic, and perioperative services, including maintaining schedules, procedural bookings, slates, waitlists, records, reports, and correspondence, while coordinating with staff, physicians’ offices, and clinical leadership to support patient safety, quality initiatives, and ongoing operations. This position works closely with clinical teams and leadership, serving as a knowledgeable resource by providing guidance on new features or modifications to existing program workflows. Travel may be required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications

• Grade 12 and three (3) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
