A healthcare organization is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in London, Ottawa Valley, and Brockville, Ontario. The RPN provides individualized resident care, supports the RN, and ensures high-quality nursing practices. Applicants should possess current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and relevant experience in Long-Term Care. This is a full-time, permanent role offering an hourly wage of $29.46 – $33.14.

Qualifications

Position: Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Status: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: London, Ottawa Valley, and Brockville, Ontario

Salary (2024): $29.46 – $33.14 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RPN provides individualized resident care under the direction of the Registered Nurse in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice, the College of Nurses of Ontario, and applicable legislation. As the team lead on shift, the RPN acts as a liaison between the RN and the Care Team, ensuring resident care is delivered safely, respectfully, and effectively. The RPN works independently in predictable situations and collaborates with the RN in more complex cases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Certification & Licenses
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), in good standing
• Certificate in Administration of Medications (if not included in RPN course)
• Current CPR certification per CNO standards
• Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) training considered an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Experience

• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) preferred
• Experience in nursing interventions within scope of practice
• Familiarity with RNAO Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) and other LTC quality initiatives
Knowledge & Skills
• Knowledge of LTC legislation and interdisciplinary care planning
• Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and resident dignity
• Physically able to meet the demands of the position
