Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Billing Service Representative to accurately configure, investigate, and maintain residential, commercial, and corporate waste accounts within our billing systems.

You will work with internal teams, service providers, and community members to navigate complex billing structures, resolve discrepancies, and ensure fair billing and seamless service delivery across Edmonton.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade twelve (12) supplemented by coursework in customer relations or business administration.
• Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience in customer billing, account management, or administrative operations.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and manage billing accounts for multi-family, single-family, and corporate facilities in utility databases.
• Investigate tax parcel data, spatial maps, and development systems to assign accurate billing rates and collection codes.
• Respond to account inquiries and billing concerns from community members, explaining technical billing details with clarity and empathy.
• Perform complex account reconciliations, calculate adjustments, and process authorized credits or debits.
• Partner with field inspectors, cart delivery teams, and service providers to resolve service level changes and property setup discrepancies.
• Support special initiatives, such as the Secondary Suite Cart Sharing Program, by reviewing applications, reply to customer inquiries and maintaining program data.
• Generate regular statistical reports, maintain bin maintenance records, and assist with process improvements.
