LeverageTek is actively seeking a bilingual Manager, Digital Communications for a permanent position with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 2x/week (Tues/Wed) onsite at the customer location in Ottawa

Security Requirement

Must be eligible for Enhanced Reliability security clearance

Key Tasks

  • Play a leadership role in defining, planning, implementing and guiding a digital communications strategy for the organization
  • Work with internal stakeholders and senior management to shape the scope and function of digital communications
  • Lead and manage an initial team of 3, providing direction and guidance in the execution of the organization’s digital strategy
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the digital content editorial calendar across digital platforms
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices
  • Mitigate any reputational and operational risks related to digital communications, especially those related to AI tools and social media platforms
  • Manage daily digital communications, including the creation of multimedia stories to increase engagement with internal and external audiences
  • Provide oversight, guidance and senior-level advice and recommendations
  • Track, analyse and report on key performance indicators for digital campaigns and initiatives
  • Work as a trusted advisor and provide subject matter expert, offering direction and advice to Communications Department leaders, managers senior management and employees

Key Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in a digital communications leadership role with a track record for planning and executing a digital communications strategy
  • Deep expertise in digital communications, including multimedia, AI tools, social media platforms, content editorial calendars, emerging technologies and industry standards
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, able to guide, mentor and motivate team members to achieve digital communications objectives and plans

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in digital communications, digital marketing or related field
  • Experience in corporate communications, including developing and engaging communication strategies and plans, content editorial calendars, communication campaigns
  • Expertise in methods, trends and best practices in digital communications, corporate communications and issues management
  • Expertise in website optimization techniques, including SEO, A/B testing, accessibility standards and best practices for digital content, graphic design principles, multimedia production tools, AI and best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of Government of Canada communications principles and policies
  • Experience with project and risk management principles
  • Exceptional leadership and people-management skills
  • Experience as a trusted advisor for digital media and communications
  • Engaging with enthusiasm and imagination, able to take on the challenge of leading longterm activities to achieve digital communications success
