Job summary

Adecco Portugal's client in Ottawa is seeking a bilingual Logistics Coordinator to manage inbound/outbound shipments, coordinate Canada–US freight, and optimize transportation costs.

You will prepare documentation, track shipments, and collaborate with production and customer service to ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Fluency in English and French is required, and advanced Excel skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience coordinating domestic and cross-border shipments (Canada–U.S. focus).
• Knowledge of freight management, carrier selection, customs, tariffs, and import/export processes.
• Strong negotiation skills to obtain competitive freight pricing.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal).
• Experience with U.S. transportation and customs processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments with a focus on Canada–U.S. freight.
• Obtain freight quotations and negotiate competitive transportation rates.
• Select cost-effective shipping methods while preserving service levels.
• Manage carrier relationships and resolve transportation issues.
• Prepare and review shipping, customs, and import/export documentation.
• Monitor tariffs, duties, and cross-border regulatory requirements.
• Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Investigate freight discrepancies and resolve invoicing issues.
• Maintain accurate logistics records and reporting.
• Collaborate with production, customer service, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
