Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Intake Coordinator at the Winnipeg head office. The role supports plan members and sponsors from initial claim submission, collecting information, explaining next steps, and confirming eligibility while processing straightforward claims per established guidelines.

The position follows a hybrid work model with in-office presence two days per week. Base salary ranges from $39,100 to $52,800 annually, with potential bonuses and total rewards discussed later in the process.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in French and English required; serves clients in both languages.
• At least 1 year in a customer service environment.
• Ability to understand complex instructions and basic contract language.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong typing and data entry skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, prioritization and attention to detail.
• Experience in disability insurance is an asset.
• Security clearance process required after offer; costs covered by Canada Life.

Responsibilities

• Contact plan members and sponsors promptly when information is missing or unclear.
• Explain required information, assist with form completion when needed.
• Follow up by phone, email or letter; inform on claim status.
• Review claim documents and contract provisions to confirm eligibility for coverage.
• Set up claims in line with contract and group requirements.
• Organize daily work to meet service standards and deadlines.
