Job summary

Canada Life in Winnipeg is seeking an Intake Coordinator for a 12-month contract to support disability claims from intake through early eligibility. You will coordinate information, explain next steps, and ensure compliance with contract provisions in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

The role requires bilingual French/English, at least one year in customer service, and basic medical terminology. Prior disability insurance experience is a plus; security clearance is required after offer.

Qualifications

• Bilingual: fluent in French and English; serves clients in both languages.
• Minimum of one year within a customer service environment.
• Ability to understand complex instructions and basic contract language.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong typing and data entry skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong organization, prioritization and attention to detail.
• Working experience within disability insurance is an asset.
• Reliability Status Security Clearance required (cost covered after offer).

Responsibilities

• Contact plan members and plan sponsors promptly when claim information is missing or unclear.
• Explain required information and assist with form completion when needed.
• Follow up by phone, email or letter and inform about outstanding information and claim status.
• Review claim documents, system information and contract provisions to confirm eligibility for coverage.
• Set up claims accurately per contract and group requirements.
• Organize daily work to meet service standards and deadlines amid changing volumes.
