Job summary

The Clerk Interpreter will provide professional translation and facilitation between patients and the health services team for the Government of Nunavut. This role supports health services access, patient complaints handling, referrals, and information services, requiring fluency in Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtung and English.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 10 and one year of interpreting/translation experience.
• Knowledge of Inuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun as well as English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to provide translation and facilitation support between patients and health services team.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional confidential translation and facilitation services between patients/clients and the health services team.
• Act as a key entry point for health services, patient complaints, referrals and information services.
• Perform primary clerical support and potentially direct others in administrative tasks.
