Job summary

The University of Ottawa invites applications for a Finance support role within the Accounts Payable team. Reporting to the Associate-Supervisor of Finance, the incumbent will perform a variety of transaction processing, verification, and reporting tasks to support day-to-day financial operations while ensuring compliance with policies.

The role requires at least two years of related experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and bilingual proficiency in French and English.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of administration and accounting principles normally acquired through postsecondary studies in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of computer systems and software including financial systems, spreadsheets, databases, Internet and e-mail
• Experience in interpreting, explaining and applying policies and regulations
• Experience in producing reports
• Ability to produce high quality work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, data entry, record keeping, and reconciliation for AP.
• Verify data integrity and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide information to employees and suppliers on procurement and financial processes.
• Maintain filing and records management to preserve confidentiality.
• Write and maintain internal procedure manuals.
• Prepare simple to moderately complex finance reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
