Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a qualified Ambulance Communications Officer for the Central Ambulance Communications Centre to support 24/7 emergency medical communications for Nipissing, Parry Sound and Temiskaming. You will handle calls and coordinate dispatch with EMS teams and fire services.

Required qualifications include English language fluency, a valid first aid certificate, CPR certification, and completion of the Ambulance Communications Course.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • OSSD or equivalent required.
  • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Valid standard first aid certificate (WSIB approved).
  • CPR certificate current; recertify every 24 months.
  • Completion of Ministry of Health Ambulance Communications Course (Entry to Practice) required.
  • Experience as Ambulance Communications Officer (ACO) preferred.
  • College 911 Communications Course required.
  • Bilingualism (Advanced English/French) required; a formal French test may be administered.
  • Job offer conditional on successful Criticaldispatcher testing.
  • Commitment to safety and prevention of adverse health events.
