Job summary

The Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services (CCTS) is seeking a Bilingual Customer Service Representative to serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling live calls and written inquiries and explaining our processes and complaint statuses.

permanent, full-time role based in Ottawa. You will review complaints to determine mandate coverage and support our fair, impartial dispute resolution. Bilingual (FR/ENG) is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service, preferably in a call center.
  • Good computing and keyboarding skills in a Windows environment.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook proficiency.
  • Ability to handle confidential information tactfully and discreetly.
  • Understanding of telecommunications or television industry, or experience in a complaints environment is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (FR/ENG) strongly preferred.

Your Role:

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for all customers by answering live calls and responding to written communication. You will be providing customers with information about us, our process, or the status of their complaint. You will also get the opportunity to review and determine whether complaints fall within the scope of our mandate. Most importantly, you will play an essential role in our complaint handling process.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate should have a strong ability to listen effectively and to act in an unbiased, diplomatic and professional manner. They should have strong problem-solving skills and use good judgment in decision making. Strong customer service soft skills like active listening, empathy and diplomacy are essential.

Must-Have Magic:
  • Minimum grade 12 high school diploma, or equivalent
  • minimum of 1 year experience in customer service, preferably within a call center environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good computing and keyboarding skills with the ability to maneuver in a Windows based environment
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • The ability to handle confidential information tactfully and discreetly
  • An understanding of the telecommunications or television industry, or experience in complaint handling environment is an asset
  • Bilingualism (FR/ENG) is very strongly preferred

Our contact center is currently open from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. These hours are subject to change.

Votre rôle:

À titre de représentant ou représentante en service à la clientèle, vous serez la première personne-ressource pour l’ensemble de la clientèle. Vous devrez répondre aux appels et aux communications écrites. Vous fournirez aux clients et clientes des renseignements sur nous, notre processus ou l’état de leur plainte. Vous aurez également l’occasion d’examiner les plaintes et de déterminer si elles relèvent de notre mandat. Plus important encore, vous jouerez un rôle essentiel dans notre processus de traitement des plaintes.

Notre candidate ou candidat idéal

Notre candidat ou candidate idéale devrait avoir une solide capacité à écouter efficacement et à agir avec impartialité, diplomatie et professionnalisme. Il ou elle devrait faire preuve de très solides aptitudes en résolution de problèmes et d’un bon jugement dans la prise de décisions. Il est essentiel qu’il ou elle démontre de solides aptitudes générales en service à la clientèle, comme l’écoute active, l’empathie et la diplomatie.

L’indispensable: une touche de magie:
  • Diplôme d’études secondaires de 12eannée, ou l’équivalent.
  • Au moins un an d’expérience en service à la clientèle, de préférence dans un milieu de centre d’appels, ou une combinaison équivalente d’études et d’expérience.
  • Bonnes aptitudes informatiques et de saisie de texte, et capacité à travailler dans un environnement Windows.
  • Connaissance de niveau intermédiaire à avancé de MSOffice (Word, Excel et PowerPoint) et d’Outlook.
  • Capacité à traiter les renseignements confidentiels avec tact et discrétion.
  • Compréhension du secteur des télécommunications ou de la télévision, ou expérience dans un environnement de traitement des plaintes, un atout.
  • Bilinguisme (français/anglais) très fortement souhaité.

Actuellement, notre centre de service à la clientèle est ouvert du lundi au vendredi, de 9 h à 17 h. Ces heures pourraient être modifiées.
