Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is looking to fill a Concierge role in a landmark hotel managed by Accor. The position offers a full rate of pay of $27.50/hour and a comprehensive benefits package including a 50% Food & Beverage discount and global staff rates.

Reporting to the Chief Concierge, you will assist guests with plans, bookings, and inquiries, while supervising the bell desk and delivering engaging, professional service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous customer related experience required.
• Must possess a professional presentation.
• Must possess outstanding guest services skills and sophisticated verbal & written communication skills.
• Must be fluent in both languages.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Highly responsible & reliable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all time.
• Previous supervisory/management experience a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with mail, messages, and any plans or arrangements they require.
• Assist with any plans or arrangements the guest intends to make during their stay and to ensure timely follow up with guests and any confirmations for bookings.
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way.
• Assists in overseeing the bell desk and bell team.
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards.
• Follow all safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Regularly lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
