Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a talented Concierge to assist guests with mail, messages, bookings and plans during their stay, ensuring timely follow-up and high‑touch service.

You will supervise the bell team, uphold standards, and provide informative guidance on hotel facilities, while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; bilingual English/French required.

Qualifications

• Previous customer-related experience required.
• Must have a professional presentation.
• Outstanding guest services skills and strong communication skills.
• Fluent in both languages (English and French).

• Assist guests with mail, messages, and any plans or arrangements they require
• Assist with any plans or arrangements the guest intends to make during their stay and to ensure timely follow up with guests and any confirmations for bookings
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
• Assists in overseeing the bell desk and bell team
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Job Description

• Assist guests with mail, messages, and any plans or arrangements they require
• Assist with any plans or arrangements the guest intends to make during their stay and to ensure timely follow up with guests and any confirmations for bookings

Qualifications

• Must possess a professional presentation
• Must possess outstanding guest services skills and sophisticated verbal & written communication skills
• Must be fluent in both languages
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all time
• Previous supervisory/management experience a strong asset

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Regularly lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
