  • Conduct primarily desk-based compliance inspections, with occasional on-site inspections where required.
  • Identify potential non-compliance and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Open, manage, document, and close compliance and inspection cases.
  • Maintain accurate records of findings, decisions, and follow-up activity.
  • Communicate regulatory requirements clearly to external organizations and stakeholders.
  • Provide professional support in both French and English.
  • Assist with FAQs, compliance guidance, presentation materials, and educational resources.
  • Support training and guidance for regulated organizations using registration or reporting systems.
  • Review and analyze regulatory and operational data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Travel occasionally within Ontario as required.
Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Approximately six or more years of relevant regulatory compliance, enforcement, inspection, investigation, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance processes and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, rules, or formal requirements.
  • Experience working with external regulated organizations or stakeholders is strongly preferred.
  • Inspection or enforcement experience is a strong asset.
  • Environmental regulation, waste management, recycling, producer responsibility, or related regulatory experience is an asset.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and produce clear, defensible conclusions.
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with data and basic analysis.
  • At least three years of experience using Microsoft Excel.
