Job summary

BMO is seeking a Collections Specialist in Canada who reviews delinquent and high-risk accounts and advises customers on payment strategies. You will support loss mitigation, maintain client relationships and collaborate with internal teams to maximize recoveries while protecting the bank’s interests.

You will provide expert guidance on collections processes, engage in data-driven reporting, and contribute to strategic initiatives across the collections life cycle.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant collections experience.
• Knowledge of Credit Qualifications and credit standards.
• Verbal & written communication skills – in-depth.
• Collaboration & team skills – in-depth.
• Analytical and problem solving skills – in-depth.

Responsibilities

• Review delinquent, high risk, or written-off accounts for collections opportunities.
• Advise customers on payment strategies and products.
• Deliver collections-related sales and service while following procedures.
• Handle escalated customer requests and complex transactions.
• Prepare data for reports and dashboards to monitor collections activity.
• Support loss mitigation and risk management initiatives.
