Altis Technology is seeking a Bilingual Collections Agent to support customers in Montreal or Toronto. You’ll discuss overdue accounts, understand circumstances and explore practical payment options with empathy and professionalism.

Location: Downtown Montreal, QC, OR Toronto, ON
Work Model: On-site during probation (excluding Saturdays), transitioning to hybrid (3 days on-site per week)

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll make outbound calls to customers to discuss overdue accounts and explore payment options.
• You’ll approach conversations with empathy and professionalism, especially when customers face financial challenges.
• You’ll negotiate realistic payment arrangements while following established guidelines.
• You’ll answer questions and help resolve account-related concerns.
• You’ll document customer interactions, payment commitments and account updates accurately.
• You’ll identify accounts requiring additional attention and escalates them appropriately.
• You’ll work toward individual and team collections goals with ongoing support.

Skills and Qualifications

• Customer service, collections, retail, hospitality, call centre or financial services experience is an asset, but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
• An empathetic, patient and solutions-focused approach to customer interactions.
• Confidence making outbound calls and discussing sensitive financial matters.
• Strong listening, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook and learning new systems. Collections tools, skip tracing and credit bureau knowledge are assets.
• Flexibility for rotating shifts Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., including approximately two evening shifts (12 p.m. to 8 p.m.) monthly and one shorter Saturday shift (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) per month.
