Job summary

RBC Ottawa is seeking a Regular – Trainee in Personal & Commercial Banking to engage clients in-branch and in the community, assisting with everyday banking, credit, and investment needs. You will refer opportunities to RBC specialists and contribute to meaningful client experiences.

The role emphasizes client-first service, digital literacy, and relationship-building. Work 37.5 hours/week in a supportive team, with a comprehensive rewards program and world-class sales training.

Qualifications

• fluently bilingual (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is required.
• Mutual Funds accreditation (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course) is required.
• Demonstrated passion for putting clients first in a target-driven sales environment.
• Strong problem-solving and people skills to build relationships with clients.
• Flexible with a eagerness to learn and strong ethics.
• Digital literacy across devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops).
• Availability to work all open business hours.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage with clients in-branch and in the community to uncover banking needs and identify sales opportunities.
• Focus on client education, leveraging technology to deliver memorable experiences and drive sales.
• Respond to client-initiated inquiries across full range of financial transactions.
• Listen actively to understand individual client needs.
• Take ownership of resolving and preventing client banking problems.
• Cultivate relationships with RBC partners to maximize referrals and opportunities.
