Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring for a Security Team Lead at Baycrest Hospital in Toronto. You will lead a team, liaise with visitors and staff, and ensure a safe environment while monitoring CCTV and access control systems. The role requires dispatch and scheduling experience and strong leadership abilities.

The position is full-time, on-site at Baycrest, with an after-hours shift pattern and potential overtime. Applicants must have CPR/First Aid Level C and a valid Ontario driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of team lead security experience.
• CPR Level C and First Aid certifications.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license (G).
• Experience with dispatch and scheduling is preferred.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Proficiency with CCTV, access control and related security tech.

Security Team Lead Baycrest Hospital(Paladin Security Group Ltd.)

Site Description:

Baycrest is a leading academic healthcare organization in Toronto dedicated to aging and brain health. Through specialized care, research, education, and senior living services, Baycrest supports older adults and their families while advancing innovation in healthy aging and dementia care.

Job Description:

• Liaise with visitors, clients, and staff to address concerns and ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Communicate any concerns or issues with the Site Coordinator in a timely manner.
• Document and investigate security incidents and complaints according to established procedures.
• Ensure all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out for each shift.
• Ensure site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and Baycrest Hospital security policies and procedures.
• Coach staff when necessary and ensure proper documentation is passed onto the Site Coordinator.
• Monitor and operate numerous systems including access control, CCTV, fire and life safety.
• Make emergency overhead announcements as needed.
• Answer telephones and dispatch calls in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
• Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards
• Plan and implement shift work schedules to ensure adequate coverage
• Ensure all Security Officers have received mandatory training and maintain compliance with training requirements.
• Manage attendance and address any attendance-related issues as needed
• Perform security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions
• Provide proactive and reactive security patrols

Prerequisites:

• Double Vaccinated - Full Vaccinated from COVID-19 with 2 doses minimum.
• Valid Ontario CPR and First Aid Certification Level C (WSIB approved provider)
• Must have a minimum 1-2 years of experience in team lead security
• Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset
• Experience in Dispatch is preferred
• Excellent customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership abilities with a commitment to coaching and training
• Working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, and other security equipment
• G class Drivers License
• Available to work continental shift
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
