Interstate Batteries is hiring a Sales Associate in Ottawa to deliver fast, friendly service, assess customer needs, and maintain a clean, shoppable store. You will test/install car batteries, assist with inventory, and handle deliveries as required.

Responsibilities include building product knowledge, promoting offers, and driving sales through clear recommendations while meeting performance targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and eligible to work.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Delivery driving experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with any endorsements as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort with cash transactions and basic math.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Greet customers with a positive attitude and smile.
• Engage customers to understand needs using open-ended questions.
• Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently assist and advise.
• Promote offers and current sales to enhance the experience.
• Explain product features and benefits clearly and helpfully.
• Drive sales by recommending good/better/best options and add-ons.
• Process transactions and handle cash/card payments via POS.
• Assist with inventory tasks and store layout.
• Complete local deliveries using a company vehicle as needed.
• Follow driver program requirements and adhere to safety policies.
