Job summary

Canadian Tire in Edmonton is seeking an Automotive Parts Associate to deliver friendly service and quick parts lookups using the computerized system.

The role involves constant interaction with customers and vendors, assisting with parts sourcing, processing returns, and suggesting related products. Suitable candidates have at least one year of automotive parts counter experience and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1 year full-time automotive parts counter experience
• Familiar with Costar
• Battery testing experience
• Ability to work shifts (including weekends/holidays)
• Ability to lift tires and car batteries; stand for up to 8 hours
• Customer service oriented

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
• Source and order automotive parts through authorized suppliers.
• Process returns, warranties and castings as required.
• Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
• Test and fill batteries, test starters and alternators.
• Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, clean area).
• Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying heavy items such as tires and car batteries, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• At least one year full time automotive parts counter experience
• Familiar with Costar
