Job summary

Murphy Hospitality Group is seeking a bartender for The Barrington Steakhouse & Oyster Bar in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will advise guests on drinks, take orders, and craft cocktails, wine, and beers while maintaining an upbeat, guest-focused service.

The role requires knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and strong guest relations; flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends, with opportunities for training, advancement, and professional development in a high-standard hospitality

Qualifications

• Bartender role requires strong guest-service skills and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn about craft beer, wine, and local ingredients.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• Knowledge of provincial liquor regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise guests regarding contents of drinks, cocktails, and beer.
• Take orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.
• Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Relay menu items and products to provide optimum guest service.
• Enforce provincial liquor legislation and regulations.
• Clean draft beer system, bar area and glassware.
• Provide seamless guest service while ensuring they have a memorable experience by providing timely service with an upbeat personality.
• Work alongside the restaurant team to establish a safe and fun atmosphere.
• This position will at times be responsible for Closing Supervisor duties. During these occasions, wage will be increased by $1 per hour.
