Job summary

Oliver & Bonacini in Toronto is seeking a Bartender who takes pride in knowledge of food, wine and spirits. You will build relationships with guests, deliver refined service, and uphold O&B standards in a high-energy setting.

You will craft beverages, manage the bar, stock and inventory, and ensure guest allergies are respected. Availability Thursday through Sunday; weekend/evening shifts. 2+ years bartending experience and legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bartending in a similar environment.
• Impeccable wine, beer and cocktail knowledge.
• Passion for food, beverage and excellent customer service.
• Ability to multi-task and be a strong lounge server.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to stand long hours and lift/move beer kegs, liquor and wine boxes.
• Available weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• This position requires to be available Thursday to Sunday.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to service steps.
• Know all food and beverage items to make informed recommendations.
• Promptly receive drink orders and prepare beverages per O&B standards.
• Present beverages clearly at the service bar pick up area.
• Communicate beverage descriptions and information to guests and team members.
• Set up and dismantle bar area, dishwasher and espresso/cappuccino machines.
• Stock and maintain bar products and mis en place.
• Monitor beer keg and liquor levels; maintain inventory.
• Be aware of guest allergies and special requests; assist as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

Our Bartenders take pride in their food, wine and spirit knowledge. They build relationships with their guests and are often asked for by name. They display natural showmanship, have great communication skills and an eye for detail. A Bartender receives beverage orders and makes beverages in a timely and efficient manner maintaining all O&B standards. They also communicate beverage descriptions and modifications with team members to ensure guests receive their requested beverage.

The day to day:

• Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
• Knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to make recommendations
• Promptly receive drink orders and pour all beverages according to O&B standards
• Present beverages in a clear and organized manner at the service bar pick up area
• Communicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team members
• Setup and take apart bar area, dishwasher and cappuccino machine
• Stock and maintain all bar products including mis en place
• Check and maintain beer keg and liquor levels
• Count and take inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory ordering
• Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
• Other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

• At least 2 years bartending experience in a similar environment
• Experience with cocktail batching an asset Impeccable wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge
• Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service
• Ability to multi-task and be a strong lounge server
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and able to lift and move beer kegs, liquor and wine boxes
• Available weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• This position requires to be available from Thursday to Sunday
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
