Job summary

Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax is seeking a Banquet Houseperson to support events from corporate meetings to weddings. You will set up rooms to meet BEO specifications, ensure impeccable presentation, and help move furniture, linens, and equipment with safety in mind.

This fast-paced, physically demanding role requires you to flip spaces between functions, maintain cleanliness, coordinate with banquet servers and managers, and maintain high guest satisfaction through reliable teamwork and pride

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Clear communication in English and ability to read event orders (BEOs).
• Reliable, team-oriented with strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms per BEO specifications, including tables, chairs, linens and equipment.
• Break down setups and reconfigure spaces for next function with speed and safety.
• Work with banquet servers and captains to accommodate guest needs during events.
• Maintain cleanliness and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory, stocking supplies and supporting event flow.
