Nova Hotels in Edmonton is seeking a dependable, full-time Banquet Porter to support our Food & Beverage team in setting up event spaces, preparing rooms with linens, glassware and tableware, and assisting with AV coordination as needed.

Qualifications

• Dependable, punctual and ready to work as part of a team.
• Organized with good attention to detail.
• Able to follow event setup instructions and work efficiently.
• Friendly and professional when interacting with guests.
• Comfortable working in a busy, changing environment.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Open availability is required, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet and meeting rooms according to event requirements
• Set up and take down tables, chairs, staging and other event equipment
• Prepare rooms with linens, glassware, china, silverware and other required items
• Ensure banquet rooms are clean, organized and guest‑ready before each event
• Reset and clean rooms following events
• Keep banquet equipment, storage areas and workspaces clean and organized
• Check in with event contacts to ensure required items are in place
• Assist with audiovisual setup and coordinate with AV contractors when required
• Work efficiently around ongoing events while minimizing disruption to guests
• Assist guests and fellow team members as needed
• Follow hotel health, safety and service standards
