Job summary

Reddy's Your Independent Grocer in Hearst, Ontario is hiring a baker for on-site work in the bakery department. Start date is as soon as possible, with a 40-hour week and no remote options. You will prepare doughs, bake goods, decorate cakes, train staff and supervise kitchen operations to meet quality standards.

We seek reliable, accurate team players with 1–2 years of experience and strong English communication. Indigenous groups and newcomers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bakery or similar role.
• English language required for communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods and icings per recipes.
• Bake dough and batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and decorate.
• Prepare special orders and oversee baking operations.
• Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods; supervise baking staff.
• Train staff and ensure product quality meets standards.
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas and manage merchandising of baked goods.
