Job summary

North Central Co-op in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a part-time Baker for our Chappelle Food Store. The role requires early morning shifts (3am-11:30am or 5am-1:30pm) and weekend availability.

You will bake a variety of goods, assist customers, and ensure product quality while maintaining stock and cleanliness. The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in a related field (Red seal preferred), retail baking experience, and strong interpersonal and math skills.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in related field (Red seal certificate preferred).
• Previous experience as a retail Baker.
• Previous cake decorating experience.
• Exceptional interpersonal and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service to customers in the department.
• Prepare a wide variety of baked goods using specific guidelines.
• Ensure consistency of all products being baked.
• Ability to follow production planners working with the Manager to project daily requirements while managing shrink.
• Keep cooler and freezers organized while having a good understanding of stock.
• Cleaning bakery in adherence to all food safety guidelines.
• Filling out temperature and sanitation guides.

We invite applications for the position of part-time Baker to join our team at our Chappelle Food Store located in Edmonton, AB. Successful applicants must be available for early morning open shifts (3am -11:30am/ 5am- 1:30pm) and weekends. Open availability is required.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

• Post-secondary education in related field (Red seal certificate preferred)
• Previous experience as a retail Baker
• Previous cake decorating experience
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong verbal communication skills
• Exceptional math skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently and stand for long periods of time
